Michael - You are the realest of the real. Damn I still get choked up when I think about Omar goin' out. Great to see you have a blog.
I've been glued to the Wire since it first came on our screens. It's pretty rare to come across an actor who can carry such a complex character as Omar so convincingly. I was genuinely gutted when Omar was shot - and that's probably the first and only time I'll grieve for a fictional character!

One of if not the best actors on the wire, I watch the show for you and snoop and was highly upset that it has come to an end....I can only wish you well in your ventures and hope to see you in more tv/film

Omar is one of the all time classic characters. Looking forward to all the films you're doing.

i LOVE omar (and stringer bell fine self too). i grew so close to omar i literally cried and im still mad now when i see the re-runs but realistically its how the game goes!
I do not have TV and had never heard of The Wire until 6 weeks ago (May 2009) when I was given the 5 season box-set as a birthday gift.
I set about watching the first season and was immediately hooked. I watched seasons 1 & 2 in the first week of viewing and can state that it is the greatest drama series I have ever seen. Both the writing and acting are riveting. Your role of Omar, and your portrayal of the character is simply spectacular. I had thought that the Sopranos and Dr House (for which I also have the box sets) were the epitome of good-drama, but The Wire is in a class of its own. I consider myself lucky that I don't have TV and therefore don't have to watch each episode in real-time. I do not want to watch the French language version as this would take away much of the authenticity. However, since the accents and the venacular, black-demotic speech patterns are so difficult to follow, I have to watch using sub-titles, and rewind fairly regularly to get a grasp of what is being said. But I consider this to be a minor setback

Being a bit behind the US of A here in England, we are oonly just starting Season 4 of the wire. I am so so hooked, what a fantastic drama!
I love Omar. depite the fact he can shoot someone and see it as 'all in the game' there is just something about him you cannot fail to love, i really cannot say what it is, but i am sure this mainly comes from the skill of you as an actor.
I keep reading other peoples blogs and they are saying Omar dies, i am dreading watching anymore now!
